Interview with CEO of Docebo - Claudio Erba - Making Learning Management Systems Accessible for all!

NewImage
When I think of all of the major technology enhancements going on in HR and HR technology - often the focus is on firms that have lots of employees, like more than 1,000 employees. This is seriously a large issue - as in 2008, there were 5.9 million firms in the United States, and 5.6 million employed less than 100 employees. However, HR professionals understand that regardless of whether you have 2 employees or 20,000 employees - Good HR is still important - it is just how you scale it. Similar to my article on Bamboo’s HRMS - Docebo’s Learning Management System has really impressed me.

I was lucky enough to get an interview with Claudio Erba, CEO of Docebo, and I truly appreciate the opportunity as he is based out of Italy (yep, the world really is getting smaller and flatter) and he travels a ton! So below is an excerpt from my interview with him.
1. What drove you to build docebo and how do you want it to be differentiated in the market?
Actually the real Docebo differentiator is in the LMS technology adoption. In the "old" school LMS deployment is considered a kind of "Project" with load of work on the technogy side and consulting side (also related to technology). The customer is overloaded of technical problems, meetings and consultants that bill per hour fees, also in the Proof Of Concept Phase. With the SAAS formula the POC is immediatly done and for free. What are the benefits of this approach? That, like is already happened in the CRM Market any business of ANY size can adopt the LMS technology, actualy, as you can see in the image I attached to this mail the top 5.000 LMS customers are spending the 30% of the budget. There is a lot of space in the Middle size market to adopt an LMS, if it is delivered with the right approach and channel (SAAS)

2. What do you see the future hr needs looking like ( 3 to 5 years from now) and what features, R&D and other efforts is Docebo doing to be staged for success ?

1) Third party products integration, the cloud is made of an ecosystem of specialized application that talks and exchange information like a single application. Docebo’s API system allows the incorporation of the Docebo E-Learning platform with the most common SaaS tools and enterprise software (such as, Salesforce, SAP, Webex, Go2meeting, Wordpress, Facebook, Twitter, Google Apps and many others). We want to extend the application we talk with

2) Mobile: For training and HR management the mobile world, especially if the user is using a smartphone, the user experience change dramatically. The mobile approach open the opportunity to unlimited online training solutions based on APPS, Players can't develop ALL the solutions that the market needs, but can allow the very Big mobile developers community to develop APPS using the LMS as tracker and content deliverer. That's how Docebo is facing the mobile challenge, very soon we will give the possibility to develop an unlimited number of Mobile apps using the Docebo API System.
