PeopleFluent's HR Analytics - designed with great focus on the users!

It is always great to see what is occurring on the analytics front and it isn't slowing down a bit. One of the meetings I had was with PeopleFluent - to see what had been happening with their acquisition of Acquire. It looks like they have done a lot focusing on the user experience of the application - and made it so general HR would use the app (e.g. not designed for quant jocks). But what is also interesting is that as part of the purchase - you get some fractional FTE that will review and help interpret your data! Pretty cool. Below are the highlights that I liked:

1. The Fractional FTE - part of the service

They have a cool report section which allows for automated report generation to occur (in multiple formats such as powerpoint, PDF, Word) etc… But rather than just a generic report with headings and data - you can work with PeopleFluent and their analysts will write paragraphs as part of the production (e.g. it looks like turnover is increasing in the Northeast, and this is a result of manufacturing.. )

2. Their Dashboard

They use a swim lane approach for their dashboard, which is well designed and allows for presentation of lots of data quickly. Each metric has a mouse over capability which will show you the formula (e.g. how was turnover calc'd), spark lines to shows the previous trending and immediate trending arrows (up and down).

3. The Metrics and benchmarks

They also come to the table with a large family of metrics that are predefined and as part of the service you get access to the SHRM metrics and benchmarks. Their technology also allows users within the same company to compare peer performance. Pretty cool.

 4. Their iPad app

Anybody that has looked at Peoplefluent knows that their iPad application is pretty amazing….. but what is very cool - is that the iPad analytics portion works when it is offline! So if the execs are on the plane - they can still review the data!

5. Adding Events

This allows someone to add a comment to a data point that then is stored along with the data. Lets say you had a lot of movement out of an organization - you can add a comment explaining that you opened a new store and pulled from another district to help staff it. What a cool approach to capture that legacy knowledge.

6. Data Integrity product

You can tell that their group has lots of experience with data, as they built something that solves a major issue - failed or flawed data files. Have you every run a query in your warehouse and got a response that seems really wrong - just to find out that the file load had been failing, and no one noticed? Their tool still loads the data, but gives alerts to customers explaining the error. Then the users can correct the data from within the tool! So you don't have to call IT to have the file to reload…

7. Their Talent Pipeline Page

One of the more interesting challenges is how to explain employee movement within the organization and PeopleFluent has built a screen that is truly a piece of art. Rather than trying to explain it - here is a picture.
