Erin Osterhaus, an HR analyst who reviews HR systems, did an interesting analysis of the HR business world and compared 2008 to 2013 and found some interesting conclusions - and I encourage you to read the study (pretty easy read).

For instance, the per employee revenue for HR consulting firms went from $325K up to almost $500K.
