CFO magazine ran article/blog from David McCann where he uses a study from Talent Management Network to say HR isn't focused on the business. Before I go further - I encourage you to read the article yourself - it can be reached here.
While the talent management study is interesting, I wish David had done a little more research. The study is representing the "largest" group of talent management professionals - at 2,800 members. There are going to be three times that amount at the upcoming SHRM annual convention - and SHRM represents over 250K members. The number of HR professionals is over 1 million - so I am not sure it is fair to extrapolate the Talent Management Network study - to the Whole HR profession.
