Once again, Bill does a great job with the HR Technology show with identifying the top new technologies we should consider!
Murmur Culture Amp:
This technology makes employee engagement go to the next level. This is the best way to understand, realtime what is going on in your culture!
Talentbin:
This company does something really cool and mines the "social exhaust" to find people who are out on the internet, and then match them to your job posting. They have been working for 1.5 years on this technology and takes 20 PLus social networks to develop social profiles. This allows a recruiter to really understand whether someone says they like doing iOS programming or have they been contributing to a ton of iOS boards answering questions.
This is a pretty cool way to basically see if a person's actions are speaking louder than their words.
But they don't just surf the internet, they look at the patent database, the professional journal database journals.
Employeetouch - touchbase:
A new time clock on android steroids.. this thing revolutionize the way to interact with employees work with a time clock:
1. It takes their picture when you punch in - so it prevents buddy punching.
2. It also allows for sending of messages and videos to the employees when they clock in. It also allows them to get an audit trail showing employees confirmation of having read and seen items.
3. It also performs some level of self service - showing previous time punches - so an employee can research their own time totals.
4. It also performs some level of compliance by making sure employees punch out for meals, etc.
5. It can tell the employee of tasks that need to be done, and look for confirmation.
Visier -
This company, which is based on leadership from ex-business objects executives is taking HR Data Visualization to the next level. This company does something really cool - as they have mapped your data into an existing platform that:
1. Has pre-done research methodologies that drill into many common questions (e.g. how is my retention%).
2. It uses clustering technology behind the scenes and will highlight metrics where the number may be good, but there is some business unit that is way off the norm.
3. It has predictive analytics element that starts to "predict" if someone is going to to attrit the organization - and it lists the reasons way - so you can see the corresponding reasons why.
4. It also allows you to "time phase" the data. So if you are looking at a dashboard - you can move a slide and it will show you what it looked like a year ago (or anytime you want).
The visualizations are incredibly well done, and you can collect "screens" as you go and it will make a powerpoint that you can download. But here is the kicker - that link can be referred to any time, and the data will be update! Plus you can share the link with others - and when they open the template powerpoint - it will show them the data based on their role based security.
PeopleFluent:
Starting to combine social profiles, and their HCM data. So think Facebook on corporate steroids. It is all about making sure to put the right resources in front of the employee (Like a Corporate Dictionary).
They also have a mobile app that allow an employee to get to meet her team virtually ahead of time so the employee can land on the ground running.
www.knack.it - What's your knack
Interesting thought process - learn more about those you are thinking about hiring via playing a game with them.
Games:
Bring out our best
Bring out our worst
Bring out the competition
You can't fake games.
One of their game is Wasabi Waiter which forces them to read customer faces to understand their mood, serve them lunch, and multi-task during the whole game. The whole game produces a very rich data set to better understand the individual. They have several games and this definitely takes OD to a new level!
