Spain: Important Labor Law Reforms Enacted

As part of the response to the economic difficulties confronting Spain, the newly established government of Prime Minister Rajoy (of the center-right Popular Party) published a Royal Decree on February 11, 2012, that reforms the Spanish labor law. It introduces more flexibility to one of the most rigid labor markets in Europe and reduces financial disincentives to hiring permanent staff.
